Guests boarding the Maharaja Express have to report at least an hour before the train’s departure at a pre-assigned venue in Delhi for the pre-boarding facilities.
All Foreign Nationals are required to obtain Tourist VISA to visit India and Passport Valid for Six Months from date of departure from India.
Your memorable journey aboard the Maharajas’ Express begins at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station, where you will be warmly welcomed and assisted with the check-in and registration formalities. Guests are invited to assemble at Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station by 06:30 hours to complete check-in formalities. Step aboard the luxurious train and settle into your elegantly appointed cabin. Enjoy breakfast on-board as the Maharajas’ Express begins its journey towards Jaipur, the celebrated Pink City and capital of Rajasthan.
During the journey, attend a tour briefing where the team will introduce you to the programme and experiences planned during your journey. Later, enjoy a leisurely lunch on-board.
Upon arrival in Jaipur, proceed to visit the magnificent Amber Fort, dramatically situated amid the Aravalli Hills. Built primarily from red sandstone and marble, this imposing fortress-palace presents a fascinating blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. Walk through its impressive courtyards, gateways and royal chambers, including the beautiful Sheesh Mahal, renowned for its intricate mirror work.
Following your visit, return to the comforts of the Maharajas’ Express. Enjoy dinner on-board and relax for the evening.
Begin your morning with breakfast on-board before proceeding for a fascinating sightseeing tour of Jaipur.
Visit the magnificent City Palace, an impressive royal complex in the heart of the city. The palace combines Rajput, Mughal and European architectural influences and continues to have strong associations with Jaipur’s former royal family. Visit its galleries displaying royal costumes, textiles, paintings, weapons and historic artefacts that provide an insight into Rajasthan’s regal heritage.
Continue to Jantar Mantar, Jaipur’s remarkable astronomical observatory. Built in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, this UNESCO World Heritage Site contains an extraordinary collection of large-scale astronomical instruments designed to observe celestial bodies and measure time with remarkable precision.
Your sightseeing continues to the Albert Hall Museum, one of Rajasthan’s best-known museums. Its impressive Indo-Saracenic architecture provides an elegant setting for collections of paintings, sculptures, carpets, decorative arts, jewellery and historical artefacts.
After sightseeing, return to the Maharajas’ Express for lunch on-board. The afternoon is at leisure to relax in your cabin or enjoy the train’s lounge and bar facilities.
In the evening, proceed to the magnificent Rambagh Palace for a special dinner experience. Once the residence of Jaipur’s royal family, the palace is renowned for its elegant architecture, landscaped gardens, marble corridors and regal interiors, providing a magnificent setting for your evening.
After dinner, return to the Maharajas’ Express. Later, the train departs Jaipur for Sawai Madhopur, gateway to Ranthambore National Park.
Early this morning, arrive at Sawai Madhopur and proceed for an exciting game drive through Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most celebrated wildlife reserves.
Once a hunting ground of Jaipur’s royal family, Ranthambore is today renowned for its population of Royal Bengal Tigers. The park’s rugged landscape of dry forests, lakes, rocky ridges and ancient ruins provides a dramatic setting for wildlife viewing. Apart from tigers, the park is home to sambar deer, spotted deer, nilgai, wild boar, sloth bears, leopards and numerous species of birds. Tiger sightings are subject to chance and cannot be guaranteed.
Following the game drive, return to the Maharajas’ Express and enjoy breakfast on-board as the train proceeds towards Agra. Lunch will be served on-board during the journey.
Upon arrival in Agra, proceed to visit the magnificent Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important monuments of the Mughal era. This vast red sandstone fortress served as an imperial residence for generations of Mughal emperors. Behind its imposing walls lie elegant palaces, audience halls, courtyards, mosques and beautifully decorated chambers reflecting the grandeur of the Mughal Empire.
After the visit, return to the Maharajas’ Express. This evening, enjoy a special “Indian Evening” on-board, followed by dinner.
Begin the final day of your journey with an early morning visit to the incomparable Taj Mahal, one of India’s most recognisable monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the finest achievements of Mughal architecture. Its magnificent white-marble façade, graceful minarets, intricate decorative work, perfect symmetry and beautifully landscaped gardens have made it an enduring symbol of love and one of the world’s most admired architectural masterpieces.
Following your visit to the Taj Mahal, proceed to Taj Khema for breakfast. Later, return to the comforts of the Maharajas’ Express as the train continues towards Delhi.
Enjoy your final lunch on-board and spend the remaining part of the journey relaxing in the comfort of the train while reflecting on your memorable experiences in Jaipur, Ranthambore and Agra.
Upon arrival at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station at 1630 Hrs, disembark and bid farewell to the Maharajas’ Express and its attentive team as your Treasures of India journey comes to an end.

The train coaches of Deluxe Cabin are named after the precious gems Hakik(Agate), Firoza(Torquoise), Katela(Amethyst), Beruz(Aquamarine) & Pitoniya(Bloodstone) to indicate the lavishness present in the overall experience provided in the tour Packages of Maharajas’ Express. The train has 20 Deluxe Cabins of which 12 are twin bedded and 8 double bedded.
On-Board the luxurious Maharajas’ Express, you will find two thematic fine dining restaurants which will allow you to enjoy delicious meals in a vibrant yet soul soothing environment. The names of the restaurants are aptly suited to the tastefully crafted design, ambience and concept.
One of it is “Mayur Mahal”, named after India’s very own graceful national bird peacock, fondly called as Mayur and the other is “Rang Mahal”, which literally means ‘The Palace of Colors’ decorated with hand painted fresco ceiling.
For the guests who like to enjoy drinks over a friendly chat, we have two bars. One of it is a Lounge bar- ‘The Rajah Club’ and the other is a thematic bar named as – ‘Safari Bar’. Both the bars provide comfortable & relaxed sitting arrangements to complement the exquisite range of wines & spirits, allowing you to unwind and lighten up. For those who wish to be left alone, we provide selective collection of books and for those who love to socialize, we do have few board games to play and have fun with.
